Australian Ford crossflow 6 cylinder engines
The first of the engine blocks used on the Australian Ford 3.3 & 4.1 iron head xflow uses a rope rear main crankshaft seal the same as Ford USA 250 & pre crossflow Australian 200 & 250 integrated cylinder head engines & 250 2V the Australian High performance inline 6 cylinder Ford engine. most of these engine blocks were used in Falcon & Cortina cars with a cast iron cylinder head.
Ford 6 cylinder cast iron engine block that used an alloy cylinder head with a 32.5 single barrel Stromberg carburettor, The first design alloy cylinder head used on the aussie cross flows had benefits over the older designed cast iron head. some of the benefits included a higher compression ratio, reduction in weight, better fuel economy, more torque & horse power.
In 1982 Ford crossflow engine received a performance boost with the introduction of the alloy head II version. The alloy head 2 now used a Weber ADM 2 barrel mechanical secondary carburettor with electric choke & used a 2 barrel inlet manifold.
The Alloy cylinder head was later cast with cut outs in the cylinder to accommodate injectors even though they were still used on carbureted engines

Ford 250 2v inline 6 cylinder engines can now get a 1/4" phenolic heat shield that fits between the intake manifold & cylinder head to slow down heat transfer that eventually travels through the intake manifold to the carburettor heating fuel & robbing horsepower. the Australian made 6mm Phenolic material is heat & fuel resistant.

Aussiespeed 2 barrel performance intake manifold for Ford over head camshaft inline 6 cylinder engines. The Aussiespeed EA to AU Ford engine is now a popular swap with modified car owners as the engine is plentiful in supply & can be fitted relatively easy to Cortina & Falcon cars. If you require an engine that will work under 3500 RPM this manifold is not for you. The AS0014 AussieSpeed 2 barrel manifold requires a carburettor with a minimum CFM rating of 500 CFM. During dyno testing we discovered that the over head cam ford engine breathes better than the crossflow in standard form as the port size is larger. Please dont be tempted to port the manifold as the inlet manifold has a noticeable difference in the size of the port runner, the cone shape runner is designed to be fitted unported & removing excessive amounts of metal will upset the flow balance & characteristics of the manifold
